TANK SAUCE & SMOKE BREAK
CREATIVE DIRECTION,DESIGN, ART DIRECTION

MADE WITH: ZACH OGAARD
Tank Sauce started on the roof top at the Wyman building by three BBQ obsessives at Carmichael Lynch, chasing the perfect sauce between meetings and Minneapolis weather. What began as tradition became ritual, and eventually, something worth bottling. It’s more than just seriously good barbecue—it’s a way to give back. Every bottle helps support Art Buddies, a nonprofit close to the heart of the agency and the people behind it.

Tank Sauce & Smoke Break : Southwest BBQ, made just north of everything, was born on a Minneapolis rooftop—once the site of Prince’s legendary Glam Slam—this project is a collision of place, flavor, and imagination. The design leaned into that contrast: bold Southwestern heat meets northern chill of MPLS. Big skies and cacti alongside snowballs and fashionable puffers. It’s a playful mashup of cultures and climates, brought to life through vibrant color, spice, and a little bit of smoke.
